A Great Book For Studnts
There are 3 basic components required to work efficiently. Time + Energy + Attention. We cannot expect meaningful work without these three comings together.
Working efficiently is actually working deeply, creating meaningful and creative work by focusing.
In our daily life, 2 basic systems in our brain guide us.
Limbic system -> Emotional
Prefrontal cortex -> Logical
So this is the two main areas that control us. When we postpone the things we need to do, that is, when we run away, these 2 areas in our brain are fighting each other.
Since the limbic system is impulsive, it wants to escape easy and not get tired (i.e. have fun on the internet, social media, watching videos, chatting with someone, etc.) The more your limbic system dominates you, the more protracted you become, and the deeper you are away from working.
The important thing is not to work long hours, but to spend the hours you work wisely and to provide enough attention and energy. You can even work more focused if you work less.
Determine the Biological Prime Time in your life. So what hours of the day can you work with the best efficiency? Morning or night, between what hours? After you have determined your BPT, you should determine where you will work during those hours. The venue should also be suitable for your study. Finally, you should plan how you will work, how much time will be required for this job. So BPT + Convenient Time + Convenient Method.
Simplify your list as much as possible for the work to be done. Make the important things bigger, the unimportant things smaller. Increase your time for important tasks and decrease it for unimportant ones.
What are the things that distract you the most? For example, reading and answering mail, make it a habit to do this only at a certain time of the day. Just take care of it at that time.
Fill your mind with empty things and keep it from getting tired. List your jobs, your receivables, your shopping list, etc. Write it on note papers, using small notepads will burden your mind.
Review your work weekly. What job did I finish this week? What did I start? Like how I'm moving forward ...
You should keep yourself away from distractions. Here you can apply the 20-second rule. When you sit down to work, put your phone somewhere 20 seconds away from you, in the other room, for example. There are more distractions than we are aware of. Let's not forget this.
Try to use as few technological tools as possible while working, as this will make the transition to long-term memory easier.
Doing multiple jobs at the same time increases the dopamine in our brain, making us feel better. That's why we tend to do more. But the main thing is to be able to focus on just one job while working.
Remember, there isn't much of a difference between being too busy and lazy because you don't actually produce anything meaningful in either.
Directing the mind to a single area, fixing attention is something that increases the capacity of the mind.
It is also very important that we neither eat nor drink in order to work efficiently. Nutrition is just as important as anything else to improve mental performance. Excessive caffeinated consumption is wrong. We must use caffeine strategically. Water consumption should increase instead of sugary carbonated drinks. Because water clears the mind, it feels good.
Let it stand in a place where you can list the work you have accomplished.
Don't forget to divide your work into small pieces.
Remember, productivity is about pushing your own limits. The more you push yourself, your attention, your energy, and your focus, the more efficiently you will work.
Make sure to take breaks between working hours to refresh your breathing.
Productivity and happiness are linked, the more you produce, the happier you will be, and the happier you are, the more you will be.
I could briefly summarize the book like this. I am keen on reading in this field. I have a few more books in my mind, maybe they will be the subject of another article. I hope we can work more efficiently and be more productive. It is difficult but not impossible. 🙂 I think these are important pill information especially for us who carry out academic studies. I believe it is essential that we acquire these features. I hope it will be useful to all of us, we will pass it on to our lives.
